The Royal Dutch Air Force Days 2019
The Royal Dutch Air Force Days are visited by 240.000 people. Because of the event’s popularity and crowdedness, it also present large online challenges. The communications team of the Royal Dutch Air Force is flooded with online reactions and questions during the Air Force Days, and asked us to help them manage all the incoming messages on social media before and during the event. And to be honest: who doesn’t want to work surrounded by the tough and inspirational military personnel of the Royal Dutch Air Force?
Our digital approach
After a short but extensive training, our team was fully aware of all the ins and outs of the event. Our community builders started the support a few days before the event from our own Scooperz office, but during the event on the 14th and 15th of June, our specialists worked on location at the Volkel Air Base! This way, we were not only able to fully experience the event, but we could also act and communicate fast with the Air Force team. Together with an extensive FAQ, our agents made sure to monitor and respond to all the incoming Facebook, Instagram and Twitter messages about the event. For us, community management is always more than just answering questions and responding to complaints. If you succeed in creating a social community feeling, community management heavily contributes to your brand experience. That is why, we also brought a content creator to the Air Force days to create content on the spot that our social community builders could use in their response. By adding customized GIFs to our responses, we gave the Air Force community a little bit more love.
Over 10.000 Facebook, Twitter and Instagram messages were processed during opening hours within an average response time of 55 minutes. The messages that received a reply together generated a PR-value of €2.380.000! A result of which we are very proud. We hope to be back next time for another shot of adrenaline…
